High Functioning Isn't the Same as Regulated

What medicine never taught you — and why it matters now

Physicians are trained to perform under pressure. What they're not trained to do is recover from it. This talk reframes burnout not as a personal failing but as the predictable output of a system that extracts without replenishing — and introduces a treatment model designed specifically for the realities of a medical career: schedule-sensitive, confidential, and fast.

Ideal for: CME conferences, physician wellness summits, grand rounds, hospital leadership retreats

The Treatment Model Built for How Physicians Actually Live

EMDR Intensives, licensure protection, and why weekly therapy isn't the only option

Most physicians who need support don't pursue it — not because they don't know it exists, but because the standard model doesn't fit. This session introduces the EMDR Intensive format: condensed, out-of-network, confidential, and structured around a physician's schedule and career risk calculus.

Ideal for: physician wellness panels, executive health forums, CME breakouts, leadership conferences

About Katherine

Katherine Driskell, MSW, LICSW is an EMDRIA-certified therapist and the founder of Clear Blue Sky Therapy & Consulting in Minnesota. She specializes in EMDR Intensives for physicians, executives, and other high-achieving professionals — and consults nationally with EMDR-trained therapists pursuing certification.

Her clinical background spans community mental health, a leadership role at the Mayo Clinic, and nearly two decades working at the intersection of trauma, performance, and nervous system regulation. Her own PTSD — sustained in a patient assault — resolved after two EMDR sessions. That experience shapes everything she offers and everything she teaches.

She speaks as a clinician, not as a patient. The authority comes from the work.
